Lyricwood Music is a consortium of multi-talented professionals in the regional classical music community surrounding Sioux Falls and Mitchell, South Dakota, who have joined together to make it easy for YOU to find what you need in classical music.

*New in 2012*, LyricWood Strings at DWU is a multi-generational string orchestra which provides both playing opportunities and live classical music performances for music lovers in the small-town and rural areas of southeastern South Dakota. LyricWood Strings performs a full season of concerts in Mitchell, including joint performances with the Dakota Wesleyan University choirs and the Mitchell City Band. The active travel schedule of LyricWood Strings delivers orchestra concerts and chamber music recitals to receptive audiences across the area, from Wessington Springs to Parkston to Kimball. LyricWood Strings is a collaboration between the independent music instructors of Con Brio Studio in Fulton, Noteworthy Music Studio in Huron, and Lyricwood Music in Sioux Falls, together with the music department of Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell.

You can also hear our Lyricwood musicians performing in the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, Dakota Chamber Orchestra, Sioux City Symphony Orchestra, Huron Symphony Orchestra, Aberdeen University/Civic Symphony, and Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra, as well as in solo and small-ensemble performances for formal recitals and a wide variety of special events, from church services and weddings to parties and fundraisers.

Lyricwood Music instructors offer private lessons and group instruction at the University of Sioux Falls, Dordt College, Northern State University, and the Huron Fine Arts Center, as well as independent studio teaching (Suzuki-certified and traditional) in the Sioux Falls and Mitchell areas.

The members of Lyricwood Music also enjoy using their experience and connections to help with a variety of other answers and services, whether you're trying to remember the name of a half-forgotten melody, struggling to learn some new music software, wondering whether Grandpa's old instrument is worth getting fixed up for Junior to learn on, or wishing you could pawn off the wedding music headache delegate the wedding music planning to somebody else.
